Meet Our Senior Pastor |
|
|
My name is Thad Moore. I have been senior pastor of Bella Vista Community Church since March of 2005. I received the Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. I graduated with a Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in December of 1988.
I was called to ministry as a teenager and began to follow through with my call experience my last two years in college. I have served churches as senior pastor in Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi, and now in Arkansas. I love being with people, and I take my preaching responsibilities seriously. I try to match the biblical text with the needs of the people in the congregation. My life verse is Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” I want my ministry to be like Jesus and seek people who do not know the wonderful love of Jesus Christ. I try to lead the church to have a servant ministry that reaches out to all persons with the love of Jesus Christ.
I have been married to Kim Taylor for over 27 years; she is the love of my life. We have two grown children. Our daughter Lydia is married to Scott Edwards. They live in Starkville, Mississippi. Our son Shaw is a student at Ole Miss.
I am excited about the ministry of Bella Vista Community Church. Our church is accepting of all persons. We gladly welcome people from different religious backgrounds.
We feel our future is bright. We are focused on sharing the love of Christ in our community and ministering to each other. We have a warm fellowship of caring people.
My theological beliefs might be summed up in the Apostles’ Creed, a second century ecumenical statement of faith.
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hades; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
I further believe the Bible to be the perfect rule for all matters of faith and practice.
